I have over 10 years experience in complementary and alternative medicine. My journey in healing started in 1996 when a family friend who was diagnosed with skin cancer asked me to help in thewellbeing process. A few years later on my travels in Tibet I came across integrated medical practice where Chinese medicine was used along with western medicine which led me to study traditional Chinese medicine at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.
Some forms of medicine have existed almost unchanged since the earliest written records and cropped up in almost every culture ever known. One of the most common has been the use of stimulation toencourage change, relieve symptoms or help people understand a new phase of life. Ever since I can remember I had a fascination with these and asked questions like: What do these therapies really do? Is there anything they can still offer us in the modern world?

As a sceptic, I really appreciated the calm, practical approach to Acupuncture. I got lots more energy from it. It helped with my back pain and had the surprising knock on effect of helping hugelywith what I thought was incurable, really awful period pain. If you're looking for someone to take away your pain or suffering overnight with no effort at all on your part then this is not for you.

Equilibre is the French word for equilibrium, and this is exactly what Chinese Medicine is aiming at, in all its forms. By definition, equilibrium is "a state in which opposing forces or influencesare balanced". The second definition is "a calm state of mind". I think this perfectly encapsulate the holistic view of the human body and its place in the world, a view which permeates throughout all Asian cultures, and particularly Chinese Medicine.
