John Tsagaris is an internationally renowned doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He began his medical career by undertaking a number of oriental and complimentary diploma studies in his homeland Greece followed by an Honours Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) combined with Human Bioscience at Middlesex University in the UK; then specialising in dermatology and anti-aging applications at Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. John holds a postgraduate diploma in skin disorders and beauty care and has been practicing in London for over 20 years, and now consults from his new clinic in the heart of Chelsea.

John has extensive experience in applied Chinese Medicine, including clinical internships as a TCM physician in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at Xi Yuan and Yi Yuan Hospitals in Beijing, China, specialising in dermatology, gynaecology and geriatrics. He enriches his education attending seminars in oriental as well as aesthetic medical courses.

The session begins at our Chelsea clinic in London with a thorough medical consultation. Oriental observatory methods and acupuncture treatment, using fine needles on specifically selected acu-points according the needs of the patient. Chinese herbal medicine may be recommended in order to speed up the healing progress.

During the treatment, your practitioner will use a number of different diagnostic methods to get a complete picture of your health and lifestyle, including taking a full medical history, reading your pulse, and looking at your tongue. Based on this information, your practitioner makes a diagnosis, developing and drawing up a tailored treatment plan, entirely personal to you. Chinese herbal medicine may be suggested to treat the health concerns internally as well and maximise therapeutic results.

Acupuncture points are selected according to your symptoms as well as your underlying energy pattern. Your practitioner may refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional if they consider it appropriate.

Acupuncture needles are much finer than needles normally used for injections and blood tests. The needles used are single-use, sterile, and disposable. If you have been prescribed medication, we recommend you tell your doctor that you are planning to have acupuncture. Do not stop taking your medication. You should always tell your practitioner about any medication and supplements you are taking as this may affect your response to the acupuncture treatment.
