About the Business

I treat patients using five element and TCM acupuncture in Mumbles, Swansea & Cardiff. I am fully BAcC registered and have an Honours Degree from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine.

Treatment benefits a huge range of conditions and ailments. I see its main benefit of assisting the body's own homeostatic response to return patients to a state of health, balance and well-being.

This means acupuncture can treat a wide range of conditions. In fact the World Health Organisation recognise it as effective for treating over 25 common conditions. NICE - the National Institute for Health & Care Excellence - recommend acupuncture for cost effective treatment of lower back pain and tension type headache. Who are NICE? They're the body who recommend how the NHS should spend their money.

In short, acupuncture is a great treatment for alot of conditions. Give me call or email: tim@goweracupuncture.co.uk to see if I can help you.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine, dating back to over two thousand years ago. Today there are now over 3 million practitioners worldwide. It began with the discovery that stimulating certain areas of the body affected functioning of certain organs and areas of the body. As the connection between skin and organs became better understood, it evolved into a system of healing. Due to its power to stimulate our own healing response it is effective for a variety of conditions.

What Is A Typical Acupuncture Treatment Like?

A typical treatment will involve an initial consultation followed by the insertion of needles. Frequently these needles will be left in for 15- 30 minutes although sometimes they may simply be inserted and removed. The needles used are far finer than those used for injections and generally only cause a slight sensation as they go through the skin. Pre-sterilised, disposable needles are used on all patients. All aspects of treatment are strictly regulated by the British Acupuncture Council, of which I am a member.
