About the Business

Lyn completed a Master of Science degree in Traditional Acupuncture in 2004. She trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York for 4 years then studying on for 1 further year of study and research. In 2012 started studying Chinese herbal medicine graduating in 2014 with post graduate Diploma from the University of Middlesex and Northern College York.

I have also trained with Dr Bisong Guo, training in Qi Gong since 1992 this also included study of different strand of Chinese Medicine, including Acupuncture, Gua Sha detox therapy and Diet therapy. Lyn has also been a lecturer at the Northern College of Acupuncture for 3 years.

My training really started when I got sick with what was then called ‘Yupi Flu’ now known as ME or Chronic fatigue. It was when I started looking for help with this that I finally found a Chinese Doctor who got me back to health. It was 10 months of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs but it got me back on my feet and back to work.

My explorations into Tai Chi and Qi Gong training took me deeper into the energetic and healing arts. A level of understanding of these ancient ‘health arts’ can give an effective day to day system to manage personal energy, make the necessary changes to find the balance to find health, be more connected to the world around and to enjoy life. My own experience is that poor health has been the greatest teacher. I am profoundly grateful to the many Teachers before and since.

Acupuncture Works

Members of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) practise acupuncture based on Chinese medicine principles that have been researched and refined for over 2,000 years. The first acupuncturists developed a comprehensive system of diagnosis based on detailed observation of the human body.

Without the help of modern scientific equipment, the first acupuncturists discovered many now familiar aspects of biomedical science, such as the impact of emotional stress on the body. Acupuncture regulates the flow of qi around the body through pathways called meridians. In recent years medical scientists have discovered myofascial pathways that follow the meridians recorded by the early acupuncturists, and the concept of qi itself may overlap with developing knowledge of how cells in the body communicate.
