Facial Rejuvination Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvination Acupuncture

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture has been performed in China form as early as 960-1270 AD during the Sung Dynasty mainly on the concubines of Empress and Emperor’s. For thousands of years, the Chinese have advocated that beauty starts from within therefore, if the internal organs of the body are adequately nourished and the energy and blood are flowing freely and smoothly, the external body will reflect this healthy appearance. During the 1970s Rejuvenation facial acupuncture was extensively researched in China, however it wasn’t until the 1990s before it became popular in the west. This has led to the development of a number of western and traditional Chinese techniques, which has attracted many celebrity endorsements worldwide including Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The facial rejuvenation acupuncture course is designed specifically to meet the needs of busy therapists with an interest in naturally restoring a younger healthier appearance to their clients. Students will learn how to utilise both western and traditional Chines acupuncture in the management of a range of conditions that will affect the healthy appearance of the face. This will include addictions (smoking, drugs, alcoholism), insomnia, depression, anxiety, over-weight, and headaches. Once students have developed an understanding of underlying factors that may cause or exacerbate the appearance of the skin they will then progress on to applying acupuncture techniques that will tone and rejuvenate the skin around the face and neck.

The course will provide the required knowledge and understanding of the importance of collagen in maintaining healthy skin and the physiological effects of acupuncture on increasing collagen production therefore helping to firm the skin and fill out wrinkles. Furthermore how acupuncture can regulate blood circulation, interstitial fluid, and tone or relax tense muscles thus lifting the face and leaving a vibrant appearance. Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western treatment protocols will be presented, thus combining body acupuncture, auricular acupuncture and facial acupuncture to achieve optimum and lasting results for your patients.

Evidence based research in acupuncture will be present to support its teaching. There is a strong emphasis on health and safety, needling techniques, contraindications and the importance of meridians, and acupuncture point selection. This allows students to develop confidence and experience in the use of acupuncture.
