About the Business

Western medical acupuncture is adapted from Chinese acupuncture using knowledge of anatomy and physiology to provide evidence-based medicine.

Fine needles are inserted into certain sites of the body for therapeutic purposes. The needles are inserted superficially or deeper to reach muscle and left in place for up to 20 minutes.

Medical acupuncture acts mainly by stimulating the nervous system and is principally used to treat musculoskeletal pain, chronic pain, nausea and anxiety. Stimulating the nerves produces pain-relieving endorphins, a course of acupuncture is usually more beneficial than a single treatment.
